Yorkshire Wedding Photographer | Charlotte Atkinson Photography
Where it started
How I became a professional photographer. I’ve loved photography since i picked up my first camera as a child, it was a very different camera to the one I use today. Little did I know at the time, just how far it was going to progress.
At the age of 5 I came 6th in an open age photography competition on Countryfile. I was really happy with what I had achieved and this result helped push me further. Fast forward a few years, my photography had become a little more serious, I was keen to learn more. This lead to me studying at York College and working hard to achieve my A Levels in photography. I was then accepted with an unconditional offer at Bradford College where I gained my HND in photography, followed by one more year there to achieve my BA Hons in photography.
After leaving college I had my first wedding, shooting on 35mm film. I still to this day have no idea how I managed it, but I did and the happy couple were overwhelmed with their photographs. In my spare time I would shoot portraits, weddings and christenings to gain practice and experience. It had been a long time coming but I felt it was time to take the next step, in 2012 I started to set up Charlotte Atkinson Photography. My business is my pride and joy, there is nothing more satisfying than being invited to be part of someone’s big day capturing those special moments and making them last forever.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have supported me over the years and have helped me to get where I am today, and all those friends and family members, who when I was younger, I used to use as models to practice on. Its much appreciated and I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you
